To serve Louisiana’s fishing communities, the LSU AgCenter and Louisiana Sea Grant are hosting a U.S. Coast Guard Commercial Fishing Vessel Program informational meeting featuring Paul Barnard, U.S. Coast Guard commercial fishing vessel examiner.

Banrard will cover a wide variety of topics, including:

  • Coast Guard Safety Inspection Program
  • Coast Guard Boarding – responsibilities and rights
  • VHF-DSC Radio Interface – with live emergency radio call demo
  • Marine Mobile Service Identify (MMSI) registration

The program will be Monday, July 8 at 7:00 PM, at the Dulac Community Center located at 125 Coast Guard Road. Registration for the event is not required.
